world. The company utilises knowledge based clean technology,
designed and engineered to provide cost effective, energy
efficient and environmentally aware solutions for the
provision of clean water and sanitation.
The
First Generation disinfection system is a re-usable
flexible container which kills bacteria using solar
energy and incorporating a dose response sensor. The
product will be marketed to Non-Governmental Organisations
(NGOs) who have the necessary resources and distribution
systems. NGOs already targeted in our market assessment
include, Water Aid, Red Cross, ICROSS and Oxfam.
Second
Generation products will be based on the same technology
but re-branded as high technology and sold at a premium
into niche markets such as Military and Leisure.
The
underlying technology has been researched as part of
an EC FP6 INCO-DEV programme involving three African
Partner countries. Large-scale studies into solar disinfection
have yielded most positive results from health impact
assessments. Other solar disinfection products to date
have been unsuccessful due to poor design and omission
of feedback sensing for consumer control.
The
products will be marketed under the brand name:

Biocidal Aqua Ground-source systems).
